EMMI aims to provide personalized training to each student :
EMMI is an European training program implemented by a consortium of universities and high level research centres. It provides both theoretical and practical training. The course-based teaching modules include:
- 1) Lectures, tutorials, practical hands-on training sessions
- 2) Direct interactions with expert scientists and professionals
- 3) A Web based platform (Dokeos) for collaborative work
- 4) E-learning modules
- 5) Optional lectures organized by the European Networks of Excellence
- 6) Exposure to technical English

The research thesis is designed to help each student acquire :
- Comprehensive understanding of the physics, biology and chemistry, image processing and analysis methods associated with each and every molecular imaging modality
- Knowledge of the potential applications of each imaging technique: including their role in disease diagnosis and in vivo monitoring of cellular and molecular processes
- Understanding of the advantages and limitations associated with each imaging technique and their suitability for different applications
- Having a grasp of the multiples sciences that constitute molecular imaging
- Ability to apply the acquired knowledge in an academic and/or industrial project
- Capability to independently lead a project
|
In addition to the technical knowledge listed above, the EMMI program will also help students achieve the following :
- Fluency in oral and written English
