EMMI program in France
This two-year curriculum is entirely structured in English (lectures, hand-outs and exams). The M1 is mainly held at the INSTN (National Institute of Science and Nuclear Techniques) located at the CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) Centre in Saclay, 25 Km south of Paris, while several M2 courses take place at partner institutions. The diploma of Master in Molecular Imaging is jointly issued by the University of Paris 11 and the INSTN.
The program of instruction is organized as follows:
- 72 ECTS mandatory credits can be earned by taking courses in:
- basics of physics, chemistry, biology and physiology for molecular imaging
- different imaging modalities (PET, SPECT, MRI, OI, and ultrasound)
- laboratory animal science (held in Belgium)
- the state-of-art of molecular imaging and its application in the industrial context
- 18 ECTS of optional course credits intended to enable students to adapt their educational background to their research projects and professional paths. Optional courses include bridging courses in Biology and Physiology, scientific English and French for beginners, as well as intensive programs in several imaging modalities which are held at partner institutions.
- 30 ECTS credits to be acquired during the last semester which consists of a full-time internship in a partner laboratory. The Master thesis defence before a jury will mark the end of the Master program.
